Our Friends Closet Launches New Website

New WebsiteOur Friends Closet is proud to announce the launch of their new website at www.ourfriendscloset.org

We hope to raise awareness of the issues affecting many disadvantaged students in our schools today. Each day, hundreds of students classified as homeless head to classrooms in many public schools in our area. Nationally, the number is in the thousands! “They might be kids in shelters, or kids sleeping in motels, or kids staying at someone else’s house,” said David Horchar, executive director of Family Promise, a Slidell help organization.

After reading an article on nola.com, a local web developer contacted us to offer his company’s services free of charge.

I read the article on nola.com and it touched me. I didn’t realize this was such a large issue. After speaking with Tina and Wendy, and hearing the passion in their voices, I knew I had to try to help in some small way. During development of the website I spoke with some contacts who knew Wendy and Tina and they offered nothing but praise for them. I knew then that I made the right decision to get involved! – The Slow Web Guy

We hope you find our site useful as we add content and new information.

If not me, then who? And if not now, then when?
